Part-Time Cafe Staff (Front and Back of House)

A Place at the Table, a pay-what-you-can cafe opening in Raleigh, is seeking two part-time Cafe Staff, one front of house and one back of house. 


Our Front of House Cafe Staff are the face of our organization and provide our customers with an exceptional experience. They perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, taking customer orders, preparing coffee/espresso and food, handling the cash register, and maintaining the cafe. They are knowledgeable about our coffee/espresso, our food, and the organization's mission. They share our values and are dedicated to the goal of bringing the community together with nutritious food. 

Qualifications: 
•1+ years of experience as a coffee shop barista 
•A passion for providing a premium specialty coffee/espresso experience which includes service, quality and consistency of products, and presentation
•Proficient in point of sale systems, internet and email applications
•Food preparation experience preferred

Our Back of House Cafe Staff are serving up quick recipes for breakfast and lunch. They must be able to work quickly and competently, as well as prepare several orders at once. They prepare ingredients and cook menu items while keeping the work area clean and safe. They are knowledgeable about our food and the organization's mission. They share our values and are dedicated to the goal of bringing the community together with nutritious food. 

Qualifications: 
•1+ years of experience preparing food and cooking at a restaurant 
•A passion for preparing nutritious menu items that taste great and use fresh ingredients
•Computer literate - proficient in Excel, point of sale systems, internet and email applications
•ServSafe certified


A Place at the Table is a non-profit pay what you can cafe that is located in downtown Raleigh. Our mission is to provide community and healthy food for all regardless of means. We have a welcoming and inviting space that provides an opportunity for all people to experience conversation and community while enjoying an excellent, fresh, and healthy meal.


We will be serving breakfast and lunch only. Our hours of operation are 7am to 2pm Monday through Saturday. 


This is a part-time position with competitive pay. Successful candidates must meet requirements of the background check process and substance screening policy.
