Core Program &
Activity Areas:
The Art Program is designed to be fun and inviting for all
members. Members should participate in a wide range of activities, from simple
to more complex. Members should have the opportunity to display their work in
an annual exhibit. Members should be given the opportunity to interact and/or
observe professional artists.

Middle School Programmer (Juniors)
Job Summary
Plan and facilitate innovative actives and programs geared toward
Middle School members, in the core areas of Character & Leadership,
Education & Enrichment, Heath & Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports &
Recreation. Individual must be creative, energetic, open-minded, self-starter,
and must maintain a healthy mentor to mentee relationship with all member.
Requirements

Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the
members
·
Provide bi-weekly schedule to the Director
·
Initiating new and creative programs
·
Promoting programs to members and parents
·
Tracking program attendance and meeting Director
goal numbers
·
Cleaning and organizing program area on a daily
basis
·
Responsible of JR Staff, Passport to Manhood,
Power Hour and Torch Club Program but not limited
·
Must be highly creative, fun and have a passion
for inspiring youth!
·
High School Diploma and B.A. in progress.
·
Minimum of 1 year experience in youth
development.
·
Knowledge of correct English usage, vocabulary,
spelling, grammar and math; general classroom procedures and equipment use.
·
Organizes and assists with instructional
activities related to classroom work.
·
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior
problems.
·
Must be a team player and have the ability to
multitask.
·
Ability to deal with the general public.
·
Ability to plan and implement quality programs
for youth.
·
Ability to organize and supervise members in a
safe environment.
·
Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
·
Valid State Drivers’ License
Additional
Responsibilities
· Must be
available to participate in special programs and/or some weekend events.
· Must
be available to attend trainings and staff meetings.
Position: Games Room Attendant
Pay: $7.50-8.00
Hours: Monday-Friday
3:00-7:00
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Experience or course of study in elementary, secondary
education, child development or child psychology. Youth work or camp experience
in a leadership role preferred.
2. Enthusiastic and creative programmer with the ability
to work directly with members.
3. Ability to communicate orally and in written form with
members, parents and volunteers.
4. Ability to create market and implement programs for
youth.
5. Ability to work with large groups of youth.
6. Application of discipline consistent with and
appropriate to the goals of the Boys & Girls Club.
7. Ability to work with members to create a
sense of belonging, usefulness, competence and power and influence.

Responsibilities)
I. Program
Development and Implementation
- Effectively
implement and administer programs, services and activities for members and
visitors
- Utilize fun and
engaging programs to the members in your area
- Monitor and
evaluate programs to ensure safety of members
- Post and follow a
weekly lesson plan
II. Program Supervision
- Continually
interact with all members by providing them with active supervision
motivation and encouragement
- Discipline
members fairly, consistently and only according to established policies
and procedures
- Ensure a
productive work environment by participating in staff meetings
- Provide
supervision in Gym area of the Club.
II. Prepare Youth for
Success
- Know the Youth
Development Strategy by instilling in youth feelings of: Belonging, Usefulness, Influence and Competence (BUIC).
- Create an
environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development
Outcomes:
- Promote and
stimulate program participation
- Create
opportunities for development of strengths and competencies
- Provide guidance
and role modeling to members
Additional Responsibilities

to be a Monitor on the bus
- Complete training
as required by licensing agency

to help out in multiple areas, as needed

bathrooms at the end of day, as needed
